MUSEUM WILL REMEMBER 9/11
WITH A MAN WHO WAS THERE

One Transylvania County man led the military response in New York City after the attacks on 9/11. On Tuesday, September 11 at 2:00 pm at Brevard鈥檚 WNC Military History 久久精品, he will tell the story. Major General Joe Taluto (retired) brought emergency help to NYC first responders in response to the horrific attack on our nation. He will describe the situation on the ground in NYC post-attack and explain the concerns and difficulties first responders faced in the immediate aftermath of the attack on the World Trade Center. Included in his talk will be: how 2,000 of the New York National Guard responded, the missions they were assigned, and the people they worked with.

Joseph Taluto served on Active Duty and full time with the National Guard for a period of more than 44 years. Among his many command and staff assignments General Taluto commanded the 42nd Infantry Division from 2002 to 2006, which included a Combat tour in Iraq in 2005/06. He concluded his military career serving as Adjutant General for the State of New York from 2006-10. He and his wife Susan have become full-time North Carolina residents and live in Connestee Falls.
